We got some rain in Southern California the night before, but not a drop landed on our stuff in the back of the truck!
(Dan was excited to drive by the city of Tehachapi, which he has always enjoyed saying.)
We rolled into Sacremento at 4 am. The capitol city was covered in fog. We unloaded the truck and shut our eyes for a few hours. Vonnegut didn't take too well to our temorary home; the city sounds made him softly growl most of the night. Its a good thing that he had just napped in the truck for 13 hours.
In the morning Dan walked Vonnie for two hours through the city while Sally finished her book.
Back on the road by 11 am, munching on grapes and triscuits, shuffling on the ipod, enjoying the beautiful northern Califorina scenery.
What a beautiful day!
